If you love the existing color of you floors and only have minimal scratches and NO WARPING, then we would recommend to resurface them. It can be completed in 1-2 days usually depending on the size of the home. And best of all, it's virtually dust-free and odor-free in our process.
How Do We Resurface Hardwood Floors?
Our first step in every process is an assessment. We always want to get a look at your floors to determine if you need resurfacing or refinishing. We are always honest with our clients and provide options, but we want you to understand each one clearly.
When we decide on resurfacing, we typically don't need to do any sanding. This is how we keep it dust-free in your home. We will come and buffer the entire floor with a special machine and cloth. This helps eliminate the scratches and scuff marks from normal wear and tear life.
After the buffing, we will wipe the floors down and get them clean and ready for the next phase.
Next, we apply a thin coat of polyurethane finish to the floors to give them a beautiful shine and protect them from future damage. This sealant typically takes a few hours to dry fully so we recommend staying off the floors for a while. The poly we use is virtually odor-free so you can remain in the house if you'd like, and it shouldn't impact pets at all.
